Last updated: May 1st, 2026This Privacy Policy explains how Tio Magic Company handles information for Safer YouTube iPad App by Tio Magic, an iPad app designed to help parents and guardians create a safer, parent-approved YouTube viewing experience for children.
Privacy-first summary
Safer YouTube iPad App by Tio Magic is designed to be privacy-focused. The app does not require a child account. The app does not ask for a child’s full name, birthday, address, school, phone number, or other direct child-identifying information. Most information used by the app is saved locally on your device. Tio Magic does not maintain user accounts for this app, does not store your child profiles on our servers, and does not save your child’s watch history, favorites, daily limits, PIN, or approved channel list on our servers.
What the app does
Safer YouTube iPad App by Tio Magic lets parents create local child profiles, approve YouTube channels for each profile, and allow children to browse and watch videos only from approved channels.Children do not have access to unrestricted YouTube search, comments, recommendations, or open browsing through the app.The app may use a backend proxy service only to help parents search for YouTube channels and sync public video metadata from approved channels.
Information saved locally on your device
The following information may be saved locally on your iPad:parent PIN;child profile names or nicknames;profile colors and settings;approved YouTube channels;favorite videos;watch history;daily viewing limits;Shorts blocking settings;synced approved-channel video metadata;app preferences. This local information stays on your device. Information sent to our backend
When a parent searches for YouTube channels or syncs videos from an approved channel, the app may send only the information needed to complete that request, such as:a YouTube channel search query entered by the parent;a YouTube channel ID selected or approved by the parent;a request to fetch public video metadata for an approved channel. Our backend proxy uses this information to retrieve public YouTube channel or video metadata. We do not use these requests to build child profiles, sell data, or provide personalized advertising.Backend request logs may be retained for a limited period only as needed to operate, debug, secure, and improve the service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
YouTube channel and video metadata
The app may display public YouTube metadata, such as:channel names;channel IDs;video IDs;video titles;thumbnails;descriptions;durations. This metadata is used so the app can show videos from parent-approved channels. Synced metadata may be stored locally on your device so the app can display approved videos more efficiently.
YouTube playback
Approved videos are played using embedded YouTube video playback. When a YouTube video is loaded or played, YouTube and Google may receive information according to their own privacy policies and terms.Tio Magic does not control YouTube’s embedded player, YouTube cookies, Google account behavior, or Google’s separate data practices.
